Martha Jane Umbaugh

September 2, 1914 — April 3, 2011

Martha Jane Sollinger Umbaugh, 96, of 103 N. 13th St. Franklin, died at 9:30 p.m. Sunday April 3, 2011 at The Caring Place.



A daughter of Oran B. and Ada B. Carson Sollinger she was born on September 2, 1914 in Rockland Township, Venango County.



Mrs. Umbaugh served as a nurse for several years at Polk State School and Hospital now Polk Center.



She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.



She was an avid doll collector. In her early years enjoyed crocheting and playing cards with her tea part friends.



On September 3, 1933 she married Lloyd George Umbaugh who died April 24, 1974.

Surviving are five children Doris Jean Umbaugh Poluski of Lake Katrine, NY, William L. Umbaugh, Alexandria, VA, Ray D. Umbaugh, Aliso Viego, CA, Thomas O. Umbaugh, Pensacola, FL and Daniel L. Umbaugh, Cambridge, OH, 7 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters Cecile Almeda Wagner and Elizabeth Fay Pachla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 7 brothers and 2 sisters.



Friends will be received in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St. from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Linda Deeter, Chaplain at The Caring Place officiating.



Interment will follow in Rockland Cemetery.



Her family suggests memorial donations be made to The Caring Place, 103 N. 13th Street, Franklin PA 16323.
