Adah M. Wood, 101, of Franklin, passed away peacefully at 12:35 A.M. on Thursday March 7, 2019 at Sugar Creek Station.
Born in Franklin on October 11, 1917, she was a daughter of the late John Sheatz and Frances Ford Sheatz.
Adah grew up in Carlton, PA with her large family where she was one of nine children.
She spent many years working at the former "Fashion" in Franklin as a sales assistant. She loved to bake and cook for family and friends and was still making her homemade bread up until recently.
She married Raymond Wood and he preceded her in death.
Surviving is a daughter, June Shilliday of Franklin; three grandchildren, Jone M. Shilliday and her husband Timothy Kirk, James E. Shilliday III and his wife Betsy, and Joel D. Shilliday and his wife Elizabeth; five great-grandchildren, McKenzie Shilliday, JJ Shilliday, Aiden Shilliday, Adah Shilliday, and Amelia Shilliday; one sister, Frances Smith; numerous nieces and nephews, and her beloved and close friends, Sandy Burchfield and Cloressa Marvin.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jone Marie Wood and seven siblings.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin, where family and friends are welcome from 1:00 - 3:00 P.M. Monday.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Justin Spurgin, Pastor of Messiah Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment will follow at Cochranton Cemetery.
