Alma Hoovler

December 21, 1922 — October 30, 2015

Alma Hoovler, 92 of Franklin, joined her husband, Harry, and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, in heaven at 3:00 A.M. on Friday, October 30, 2015. She has resided at The Caring Place since March 27, 2009.

Born on December 21, 1922 in Clearfield County, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Elizabeth Reitz.

Alma was a 1941 graduate of Valley Grove High School. She worked for a short time during WWII at the CPT in Franklin.

On February 21, 1942 Alma married the love of her life, Harry W. Hoovler. She devoted her life to taking care of her children. Alma enjoyed teaching Sunday School for 37 years with toddlers at Grace United Methodist Church in Rocky Grove. She loved to sew, bake and garden. Alma spent most of her life in Franklin, but later moved to the family farm near, Elmo, PA. She loved the peace and quiet that she enjoyed there with Harry. While living on the farm, Alma was a faithful member of the Fern EC Church.

Surviving Alma are her children; Jacqueline Cokain of Franklin and David Hoovler and his wife Nancy of Rockford, MI; her grandchildren, Jeffery Cokain and Dipti Patel of Potomac Falls, VA, Michael and Karen Cokain of Leesburg, VA, Sherri and Kevin Weise of Mason, MI, Christine and Dan Holder of UAE, James Hoovler of Colorado and Daniel Hoovler and Alexandra Rush of Grand Rapids, MI; her great grandchildren; Marcus, Katrina and Mitchell Cokain of Leesburg, VA. Also surviving is her sister Ethel Hoffman of Seneca, her sisters-in-law, Mary Annetta Hoovler of Winter Garden, FL, and Louise Reitz of Cape Coral, FL, and many nieces and nephews.

Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Hoovler, seven brothers and six sisters and her son-in-law, Russell Cokain.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Interment will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church of Rocky Grove, 350 Front St., Franklin, PA 16323.
