Amanda L. Roemer, 87 of 214 Pacific St., Franklin, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour at 8:30 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2011 at her residence.
She was born in Fertigs on November 27, 1923 a daughter of the late Edwin and Achsah Harkinson Young
Mrs. Roemer had worked as a nurse?s aide at several convalescent homes in California.
She attended the Independent Baptist Church at Pleasantville.
She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, board games, bingo, reading her bible and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was married to Burton Roemer on May 10, 1944 and he died on November 22, 1991.
Surviving are two daughters Roberta Bignell and her husband Jim and Shirley Cadle and her husband Danny all of Franklin, seven grandchildren, Peter Bignell and his wife Annabelle, Oil City; Marshella Ferhout and her husband Tim, Canada; April Plues and her husband Jason, Seneca; Margie White and her husband Chris, Oil City; Danny Cadle Jr and his wife Allyssa, Beaver Falls; Marsha Cadle, Washington State; Michelle Harris, California; 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson Christopher Bignell and five sisters.
Friends will be received in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St., Franklin on Tuesday evening from 6 to 7. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. with the Rev. Richard LaRocque, pastor of the Independent Baptist Church in Pleasantville.
Interment will be made on Wednesday in the Heckathorn Cemetery.
