Amelia L. Phipps

Amelia L. Phipps, 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 9 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Living Center, Grove City, where she was a resident since August 2001. She formerly made her home in Grove City and Harrisville. Born in Pittsburgh, Oct. 6, 1915, she was the daughter of Joseph F. Klein and Amelia K. (Schubert) Klein. She was a graduate of Shaler High School. Mrs. Phipps was a homemaker and was a member of Church of God, Barkeyville. She was married to Charles A. Phipps Sr., on Nov. 28, 1934. He died June 21, 1989. Surviving are five daughters, Anna May Thompson and her husband, James, of Montclair, Calif., Henrietta K. Graham and her husband, William, of Grove City, Eleanor C. Liston and her husband, Robert, of Grove City, Gladys L. Reimes and her husband, John, of Edinburg, Lawrence County, and Christine H. Burnside and her husband, Richard, of Volant; a son, Charles A. Phipps Jr. and his wife, Peggy, of Edinburg; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, a granddaughter two sisters and four brothers. Friends of Amelia L. Phipps, who died Tuesday, July 27, 2010, may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Jamison Funeral Home, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with John Hanna officiating. Burial will be at Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City. Memorial contributions may be made to Barkeyville Church of God, 5433 Pittsburgh Road, Harrisville, PA 16038.
