Bert H. Malone, 88, of 124 Lowry Court Drive died at 9:02 a.m. Sunday March 11, 2012 at Sugar Creek Station.
A son of William and Anna Shaw Malone he was born in Newburg, WV on December 16, 1923.
Mr. Malone was employed by the Franklin Area School District. At the time of his retirement he was head of the maintenance department at the Victory School.
He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He married the former Margaret E. Eakin, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by 7 sons Richard Malone and his wife Marie of Clarion, Jack Malone and his wife Carmen of Oil City, Jerry Malone and his wife Kay of Florida, Don Malone, Mike Malone, Chris Malone and his wife Margaret and Terry Malone and his wife Bonnie all of Franklin; two daughters Sandy Powell of Franklin and Tina Arnold and her husband Greg of Union City; many grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother Paul Malone and a sister Jean Homitsky.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two sons Bert Malone and Gary Paul Malone (Jerry?s twin), a daughter Cheryl Ann Malone (Chris? twin), a sister Dollie Haskins, and four brothers Edward, Robert, Fred and Kenneth Malone
Friends will be received in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St. from 5-7 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held in the Huff Chapel at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Mark Rusnak, Chaplain of Ascera Care Hospice officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Irwin Cemetery.
