Betty Jane Tock, 88, formerly of Oil City and Franklin, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, at Bel-Air Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center in Lower Burrell.
Born April 4, 1922, in Corsica, she was the daughter of Wayne N. and Lillie M. Hughes Elder.
She had lived in Oil City and Franklin most of her life.
She was married to Robert O. Tock, who preceded her death.
She had been an LPN at what is now UPMC hospital, retiring in 1987.
Mrs. Tock was a member of the Franklin Free Methodist Church. Betty was a volunteer at the Franklin Library in the Pennsylvania room and at the DeBence Music Museum in Franklin. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra L. Carney and her husband, the Rev. Darrell Carney, of Slippery Rock, and Kathy A. Aites and her husband, Charles, of Statesville, N.C.; a son, Dee W. Tock and his wife, Nancy, of Cooperstown; and a daughter in-law, Dorothy Dunmire of Seneca.
Also surviving are three grandsons, Robert O. Tock, II and his wife, Rosa, of Chino, Calif., Dirk T. Carney and his wife, Collene, of Monaca and Boyd T. Carney and his wife, Jerilee, of Lewisburg; five granddaughters, Julie A. Aites of High Point, N.C., Rachel L. Loux and her husband, Benjamin, of Penfield, N.Y., Jody L. Tock of Pittsburgh, Michelle R. Tock of Cooperstown and Mary E. Tock of Cooperstown; and six great-grandchildren
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary L. Tock; a brother, Stewart Elder; and two granddaughters, Susan L. Tock and Melissa Swing.
Friends will be received in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St. from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Darrell Carney officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens, Cranberry, Venango County.
