Betty June Persing

Betty June Persing, 91, of Christmas, FL formerly of Franklin passed away at 5:20 A.M. on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 in Florida.

Born in Franklin on June 2, 1926 she was a daughter of the late Carl D. and Ethalyn B. Shumacher Baker.

Betty attended beautician school. Betty was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.

She was married to Gifford Merton Persing and he preceded her in death in 2006.

Surviving are two sons, Richard Persing of Lake Wales, FL and Gregg Persing of Pelham, GA; two daughters, Mindi Redditt and her husband Wade of Christmas, FL and Sue Owens and husband Bill of Ferndale, FL; a sister, Norma Hogue; two brothers, Don Baker and Karl "Butch" Baker, 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Sherry Baker and a brother, Ken Baker.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff - Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin where family and friends are welcome from 3:00 - 4:00 P.M. Saturday.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Justin Spurgin, Pastor of Messiah Baptist Church, officiating.

Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery.
