Beverly Jane Myers

July 10, 1935 — December 12, 2015

Beverly Jane (Snyder) Myers, age 80 of Franklin, died peacefully on December 12, 2015 in Pittsburgh.

Beverly was born July 10, 1935, in Franklin, Pennsylvania, the daughter of her late parents, Oliver "Howdy" Snyder and Onieta Hazel (Shawgo) Snyder.

Beverly thoroughly enjoyed her life in Franklin, growing up in the town's Third Ward. She often fondly reminisced about her friends at school and her years as a varsity Cheerleader. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1952. She attended the Fox Street Church of God throughout her life and often played the organ for the church services.

In 1957, Beverly married Thomas W Myers. Beverly was an outstanding cook, one of the best. She showcased her skills by working for the Franklin School District's Food Services Department for over 30 years. There she was head cook and manager of the cafeteria for several of the local schools, including Sandycreek, Central Elementary, and Franklin High School. She also worked at The Caring Place and brought many smiles to the residents over her 10 years there. She retired in 2006.

She and Tom Myers had two children, Michele ("Shelly") and Craig. During their childhood, she was part of numerous volunteer groups. She managed the Franklin Little League concession stand for several years. She often helped those in need, providing winter coats and gloves to less fortunate children she met at the elementary schools. She was a very loving and involved mother and grandmother. She never missed any of her children's or grandchildren's activities, making numerous trips to Pittsburgh and Kalamazoo, Michigan over many years to catch every event. Beverly enjoyed life and was always full of energy and drive, finding ways to balance her home and family activities with her full time work. But she often found time to relax and enjoy time with her friends and family in the evenings.

Beverly is survived by her brother, John Snyder and his wife Phyllis of Kittaning, PA; her brother Thomas Snyder and his wife Linda of Winter Haven, FL; her son, Craig William Myers and his wife Dana of Pittsburgh, PA; her daughter Michele and her husband Robert Sharp of Kalamazoo, MI; and her grandchildren Griffin Myers, Peyton Myers, and Cooper Myers of Pittsburgh and Aubrey (Sharp) Koches and her husband Seth, and Tara (Sharp) Szatkowski and her husband Mark; and a number of other relatives and close friends.
