Carol Ann Griffen, 67 of 158 Causeway Dr. Franklin died at 7:15 A.M. Monday January 30, 2012 at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.
Born June 28, 1944 in Cranberry she was a daughter of the late Louis F. and Nellie Elizabeth Fern Strain.
She was a graduate of Cranberry High School and worked for 35 years at Polk Center.
Carol was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, always going above and beyond for her family. Her strength and devotion to her family was an example to all she touched.
Survivng are two daughters, Gayle Ann Davis and her husband Tony of Reynoldsville, W.VA., Susan Griffen Blair of Franklin; two sons Scott Anthony Griffen and his companion Lisa of Franklin, Cory Michael Griffen and his companion Bobby of Franklin; her late sons companion Becky; two sisters, Gloria Puleo of Sugarcreek, Marilyn DeLong and her husband Alton ?Sparky? of Oil City, one brother Fred Strain and his wife Kathy of Buffalo, NY; one sister in law Bonnie Strain of Oil City, 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her loving dog, Bear.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son William E. Griffen Jr. and a brother Thomas Strain.
Friends and family welcome Wednesday from 3:00 ? 7:00 P.M. at Huff Chapel Inc. 312 West Park St. Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. Jonathan Bell, Pastor of the Franklin Wesleyan Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will be at Franklin Cemetery.
