Charles J. Manny, age 90 of Grove City, formerly of West Sunbury, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2016. Charles was born in Butler on July 29, 1926 to the late Harry and Mary Scott Manny. He proudly served in the United States Army for a period of time in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He married his beloved wife, Hazel Williams Manny on February 20, 1954 in Butler, she survives.
Charles worked as an outdoor advertiser for Pittsburgh Outdoor Advertising as well as working as a security officer for his son. He was a brilliant man who loved to work on clocks, pick through garage sales, as well as fish, hunt, and camp, a few of his favorite places being Wolf Creek, Pymatuning Lake, French Creek, and Sandy Creek.
In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by one son, Richard Manny and his wife Pamela of Kennerdell, two grandsons, Justin and Samuel Manny of Kennerdell, three step-children, Larry Miller and his wife Harriet of Butler, Shirley Hartzell and her husband Grant of Grove City, and Frank Miller and his wife Sandy of Butler, also surviving are eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and three sisters, Betty Vandervort of Dayton, Geraldine Kaylor and her husband Braden of Butler, Shirley Regis and her husband Bob of Butler, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
There will be no public visitation
A private memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Jamison Funeral Home, Inc.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Charles' name to The Wounded Warriors Project, 4899 Belfort Rd Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256
