Christopher Thompson

Christopher Thompson, 63 went to be with his Lord at 12:42 A.M. Wednesday July 27, 2011 at UPMC Montefiore in Pittsburgh. He lived the last 21 years at Polk Center.



Born on December 4, 1947 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Henry and Christine Harris Thompson.



He participated in the Resident Advisory Council and worked in the vocational department at the center. He had worked at Applefest for a number of years and always enjoyed the festivities. He looked forward to special events such as baseball games, day trips and visiting his family. He participated in all special activities at the Center and particularly enjoyed the annual dinner dances, fireworks displays, camping and Earth Day celebrations.



He was a gentle, soft spoken man who will be greatly missed.



He is survived by a brother, Henry Thompson and his wife Pat and a sister Ms. Fannie Ali, both of Pittsburgh.



In addition to his mother and father he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda.



Friends will be received from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Huff Chapel Inc. 312 West Park St. Franklin. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with the Rev. Jerri Wolford, officiating.



Interment will follow at Franklin Cemetery.
