Claribel M. O'Neil

Claribel M. "Peg" O'Neil, 101, formerly of Meadow Church Road, Cranberry, passed away at 2:15 P.M. Friday June 6, 2014 surrounded by her family.

A daughter of the late Charles and Cora Hill Martin, she was born in Franklin on March 4, 1913.

She was a graduate of Rocky Grove High School.

Mrs. O'Neil was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Seneca United Methodist Church and also the Ladies Auxiliary of the Seneca Volunteer Fire Department.

She enjoyed gardening and bird watching.

She was married to W. Glenn O'Neil on April 10, 1937 and he preceded her in death on July 12, 1984.

Surviving are two daughters; Darlene Brown and her Husband James of Polk and Rev. Clara Kohlmeyer and her husband Dennis of Cranberry; five grandchildren, Kimberly Shaffer and her husband Fredrick of Franklin, David Brown and his wife Rita of Summerville, SC, Douglas Brown and his wife Wendy of Beaver Creek, OH, Tracy Cowles and her fiancé Keith Garletts of St. Clairsville, OH and Vicky Hammer and her husband David of Allison Park.

Additionally surviving are eight great-grandchildren; Hannah Shaffer, Samantha Brown and Anthony Brown, Contessa Brown, Noah and Eli Cowles and their father Gordon, and Jack and Cole Hammer; and two sister-in-laws, Eleanor O'Neil and Sally O'Neil.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Hunter Alan Shaffer.

Family and friends welcome Tuesday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. 312 West Park St. Franklin.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Bill Hastings, Pastor of Seneca United Methodist Church, officiating,

Interment will follow at Rockland Cemetery.
