David E. Mcmurdy

David E. McMurdy, 68 of 212 Buffalo St. Franklin, passed away at 3:30 A.M. on Tuesday August 21, 2012 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

Born September 4, 1943 in Barkeyville, he was a son of the late George T. and Evelyn Pizer McMurdy.

Mr. McMurdy worked for over 25 years at Polk Center in the dietary and laundry services departments.

He enjoyed watching golf, working on cars, cooking and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.

On July 27, 1963 he married the former Marilyn Shaw in the Clintonville United Methodist Church and she survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Wendy Nelson and her husband Kenneth of Cranberry, Bobbi Lunney and her husband Steve of Cooperstown, and Ann Frankenberger and her companion Vance of Rocky Grove; one son, William McMurdy and his wife Anna of Franklin; five sisters, Marie McMurdy of Barkeyville, Mary McFeaters of Barkeyville, Bert Briggs of Grove City, Lydia McBride of Grove City, and Judy Bradford of Maryland; six grandchildren, Jonathon and Kayla Nelson of Cranberry, Clayton Lunney of Cooperstown, Rachel Lunney of Texas, and Brandon Johnson and Devon Frankenberger of Rocky Grove and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, George McMurdy.

There will be no visitation.

Interment will be made in Franklin Cemetery.
