Dorothy S. Mcguire

Dorothy Jean Sheasley McGuire, 88 formerly of 421 Moreland Dr., Franklin passed away on Friday morning December 28, 2012 at the Caring Place.

Born August 5, 1924 in Franklin she was the daughter of the late Ambrose and Dorothy Blake Sheasley.

She worked in accounting for several years at Martin Concrete.

Dot had a passion for all animals. Gardening was also one of her favorite pastimes. She was a fervent fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Dot enjoyed spending the winter months with her husband Jack in Hawaii and Aruba.
Dot had a great sense of humor and was a very positive role model, especially with her children. She always showed interest and enthusiasm towards her family and enjoyed spending quality time with them. She was a 50 year member of the Order Of the Eastern Star.

On June 6, 1947, she married John Joseph ?Jack? McGuire and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. McGuire is survived by a daughter, Janice L. Barr and her husband Daniel of Elmira, NY and a son Thomas K. McGuire and his wife Valerie of Franklin; four grandchildren, Thomas M. Barr and his wife Maureen of Elmira, NY, Julie Mace of Elmira, NY, Kelly A. Lucas and her husband Herb of Cochranton ,. Travis J. McGuire and his wife Mayra of Baltimore, Maryland; and great-grandchildren, Alexandra Caroline, Jace ? Thomas Barr, Kendra Mace of Elmira, NY and Dylan Lucas of Cochranton.

Per Dot?s wishes there will be no calling hours or services. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Caring Place and Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion they gave Dot.
