Earlene Jeffries McChesney, 83 of 392 Shay Road, Franklin died on January 17, 2010 at 3:35 p.m. in UPMC Northwest, Seneca.
She was born in Smithville, Tennessee on August 14, 1926, a daughter of Jesse S. and Eva L. Luna Judkins.
She worked in the dietary department at the Franklin Hospital for 10 year and after that she worked at K-Mart for 8 years.
She was a member of the local Eastern Star and had been Worthy Matron twice.
She married Freeman T. Jeffries on August 1, 1944 and he died on June 25, 1992. She then married Gene McChesney on July 9, 2006 and he survives.
Also surviving are six children, Linda Sue Wile, Mountain Home, AK; Herman Jeffries and his wife Barbara, Centerville, TN; Wanda Fay Jeffries, Bon Akua, TN; Thurman Jeffries and his friend Myra, Franklin; Truman Jeffries and his friend Lillian, Leetonia, OH; Norman Jeffries and his friend Laurie, Detroit, MI; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers; 3 sisters and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, 2 brothers and a sister.
Friends will be received in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St., Franklin on Tuesday from 1 to 5. A prayer service will be held in the funeral home at 5:00p.m. by Rev. Joseph Filer pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Oil City.
There will also be visitation on Friday from Noon to 2 in the Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas. A funeral service will be conducted in the Willowhole Cemetery in North Zulch Texas at 2:30 Friday.
