Edward E. Brustle, 86, of Franklin passed away peacefully at his home at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2015.
A son of the late Gustav and Martha Grater Brustle he was born on June 16, 1929 in Bellevue.
He served a tour of duty with the U.S. Army in Korea during the Korean War.
Mr. Brustle owned and operated Brustle's Studio located in Franklin for over 40 years specializing in wedding and graduation photography for countless Venango County residents. He provided commercial services as well.
He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church for over 50 years. He served as the church organist for over 50 years; he also was a gifted pianist. He enjoyed classical music and attending symphony concerts. For the past three years he delighted in sharing the joys of making beautiful music by giving piano lessons to his great niece, Emily Powell
Ed made numerous trips to Germany to visit family and friends. In his younger years he was an avid cyclist and enjoyed working outside.
Surviving are his sister Bertha Powell, and nieces and nephews Cathleen Tolzman, John & Cathy Powell, Carolyn Lang, Ed & Rhonda Powell, Susan McDonald, David Brustle, Eric Brustle, Karen & Jim Zak and Kimberly Brustle. Also surviving are numerous great-nieces and nephews along with cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother William Brustle.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
