Elaine J. Coast, 67, of Harrisville died at 12:30 a.m. Monday July 1, 2013 at her residence. A daughter of William R. VanDyke and the late Sara I. Haggerty VanDyke she was born in Grove City on October 2, 1945.��She was a graduate of Moniteau High School and received her Bachelor"s degree from Clarion University. Elaine began her teaching career at the Har-Mer Elementary School in Harrisville.��She retired from the Franklin Area School District after 30 years of service.��She had tutored students preparing for further education and participated in the religious release program at the Har-Mer School. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Grove City where she sang in the choir and served as the church pianist.��Elaine had also taught piano from her home.�� In addition to her music she enjoyed cooking, shopping and particularly valued her time with her family. On August 6, 1966 she married A. David Coast, who survives along with a daughter Gay R. Coast-Frampton and her husband Rick of Lincolnton, NC, a son Ryan D. Coast and his wife Candice of Harrisville and a grandson Skyler D. Coast.��Also surviving are her father and step-mother William and Garnet VanDyke of Harrisville, a sister Beverly P. Sloan and her husband Donald Hefferman of Harrisville, and two brothers William E. VanDyke and his wife Karen of Lordstown, OH and Wayne D. VanDyke and his wife Bobbie of Harrisville. She was preceded in death by her mother. Friends may call at the Jamison Funeral Home, 117 N. Main St. Harrisville from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday.�� Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. David Johnson, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Grove City, officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Library, 103 Cranberry Rd., Grove City, PA 16127
