Eleanor Hudick Marchibroda, 84, of 106 Poplar Street, and The Caring Place, Franklin, passed away on Thursday, October 8th, after an extended illness.
A life-long resident of the Franklin-Oil City area, she was the daughter of Michael and Bernice Sekula Hudick. Born on July 22, 1925, in Oil City, she graduated from the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Grade School and Oil City High School. Mrs. Marchibroda was fluent in the Polish language and took great joy in communicating on behalf of her family between the U.S. and Poland. She also loved music and dance.
Eleanor married John H. Marchibroda on August 17, 1946. A devoted wife and mother, she supported John in his business, Marchibroda Beverage Co., and together they raised two children. He survives, along with a son, Dennis J. and wife Lynn; and a daughter, Lorraine J., all of Franklin.
Also surviving are two brothers, Robert Hudick, of Erie, Pa.; Joseph Hudick and wife Nikki, of Hyannisport, Ma, and three sisters; Dorothy Ryczko and husband Max of Oil City, Adeline Andres of Franklin, Jane Bell and husband George of Oil City, and a sister-in-law, Tilly Hudick of Oil City. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Michael Hudick Jr., a sister, Rita Youngberg and her husband Vern, and a brother-in-law, Richard Andres.
Arrangements will be made by Huff Chapel in Franklin. There will be no visitation.
A private funeral mass for the family will be celebrated by Monsignor John J. Herbein at St. Patrick?s Church. on Saturday, October 10th at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Patrick?s Cemetery.
