Eugene E. Hoover

Eugene E. Hoover,90, formerly of 1114 Old Mercer Rd. died at 10:14 a.m. Sunday May 20, 2012 in The Caring Place where he had resided for the past 4 � years.

A son of Charles L. and Virginia L. Reynolds Hoover he was born in Franklin on December 29, 1921. He was a graduate of Franklin High School.

Following graduation from high school he entered the U.S. Army and served during World War II.

Mr. Hoover was employed as a welder at CPT until his retirement in 1986.

He was a member of St. John?s Episcopal Church. Active in the community he was a member of several organizations including Myrtle Lodge #316 F. &A.M. and the Franklin Elk?s Lodge #110.

He enjoyed his family and living his life on ?Hoover Hill?. Most of his early days would find him on his John Deere meeting with his brothers and other neighbors to discuss the next project. He and his wife, Lucy, had a great passion for their horses and golfing.

On March 25, 1961 he married Lucille Eakins. She died December 14, 2007.
Surviving are a step-son Timothy E. Deemer and his wife Jennifer and two grandchildren Dustin and Brandy Deemer all of San Antonio, TX. Also surviving are three sisters-in-law, Betty M. Hoover, Zeetah F. Hoover and Marcella A. Hoover all of Franklin and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 6 brothers Clair C. Hoover and his wife Lucille, Russell H. Hoover and his wife Mary Ellen, Harold L. Hoover and his wife Rachel, Terry L. Hoover, Paul A. Hoover and Robert W. Hoover.

Friends will be received in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St. from 3-6 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 6 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Robert Scheer officiating.

Interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.
