Forrest Duane Hill

Forrest Duane Hill, 89 of Oklahoma City, OK formerly of Tippery died on Thursday June 13, 2013 at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Born September 20, 1923 in Franklin he was the son of the late Forrest E. and Lottie M. Turner Hill.

He graduated High School in 1941.

Upon the death of his father, at the age of 13, Forrest took responsibility of his family?s farm.

Forrest held many farming jobs throughout his life, working at Windy Hills Farm for seven years and also at Venango Manor for many years where he met his future wife.

While a resident at Grace Living Center ? Wilshire in Oklahoma City, Forrest was known affectionately as the ?little farmer? because of the love and care he put into the gardens surrounding the living center.

Mr. Hill loved nature, reading his bible and reading travel books.

On February 15, 1964 he married the former Elizabeth Ann Minnis, who preceded him in death in April of 2002.

Surviving are two daughters; Shelly Newsome of Reno and Suzanna Hill of Oklahoma City, OK; a sister Ruth Gricks; seven grandchildren, Melissa Newsome and Rebecca Newsome, Sasha Guerra and Roderick Hill, Rayann Brown, Shaylynn Brown, and Hunter Brown; and one great-great grandson Lucas Guerra.
Also surviving is a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Irene Hill Brown and two sisters, Marilyn Boyer and Bernice Martino.

Family and friends welcome Thursday from 10:00 ? 11:00 A.M. at Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. 312 West Park St. Franklin.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bonnie Stoudt of the Oil City Church of God, officaiitng.

Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery.
