Frederick Lee Maxon, 67, of Franklin, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday June 19, 2024.

Born in Clarion on May 19, 1957, he is the son of Clayton Maxon and the late Nancy Haggerty Maxon.

He attended Franklin High School and was a 1976 graduate of Rocky Grove High School.

Fred retired from the former Joy Manufacturing and worked at the chain plant. 

He loved spending time with his family and friends around the fire and hanging out in the garage with his tunes and his cat. Fred also enjoyed hunting with his father and family in the deer "shanty" that they built. Fred enjoyed many trips down the river with the "Big 5." He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. 

On April 25, 1987, he married the former Christine M. McLaughlin and she survives. 

Surviving are three children, Amber Maxon of Franklin, Jenna Maxon of Austin, TX and Clayton Maxon and wife Ayanna of Wilmington, NC; five grandchildren, Araya, Anden, Araden, Bentley, Brogan; two siblings, Matt Maxon and wife Debra of Warrensburg, MO and Jill Adams and husband Pat of Franklin, his step- mother, Betty Maxon and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and his son Justin. 

In accordance with Fred's wishes there will be no visitation or services.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin.

Memorial donations may be made in Fred's name to a charity of ones choice.
