Gerald W. Steinecker, 68, of Polk died Thursday evening, February 11, 2016.
A son of Leland B. and Margaret Louise Walters Steinecker, he was born in Franklin on July 3, 1947. He was a 1965 graduate of Franklin High School and attended St. Vincent College in Latrobe after graduating from West Palm Beach Junior College.
Jerry owned and operated Steinecker Painting and for many years painted with his son.
Jerry spent most of his life in the Franklin area and in recent years wintered in Florida. Jerry was a people person; he enjoyed visiting with people and telling a joke. He loved his music, playing guitar and keyboard. He was happiest jamming with other local musicians and was a regular performer at Applefest. He particularly enjoyed Clapton as evidenced by his license plate.
Surviving are a son Blair Keith (Jamie) Steinecker of Franklin and their children Tyler, Taylor and Liam; two daughters Brooke Marie (Eric) Steinecker of Maryland and Breezie Lynn Wheeler and her children Kodie, Lester and Mason, and his sister Janet M. (Jack) Eakin of Pittsburgh and their children Chris, Jon and Kathleen. Also surviving are his beloved friend Kelly Langston and her daughter Ashley and cherished friends Harold Deeter, Kerby Wheeler and Dennis Johnson.
Friends will be received in the Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 312 W. Park St., Franklin from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 am until 11 am Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m Thursday in the funeral home.
Interment will be made in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
