On September 11, 2021, Grace Jacoby Solle left this earth to join her Lord in heaven.
Born April 22, 1936 in Franklin, Grace was the daughter of the late Torrence (Toby) and Ruth (Fulmer) Jacoby. She grew up in Galloway.
She was a 1953 graduate of Rocky Grove High School and a graduate of the Stenotype Institute of Pittsburgh receiving a degree in Secretarial Science and Certified Typist. She also competed several computer courses through the University of Pittsburgh, Titusville.
Throughout her years, she worked in various secretarial/administrative positions at the PA Department of Highways, PA Department of Welfare, Northwest Savings (Venango Federal Savings), Joy Machinery Company in Franklin and Cytemp Special Steel in Titusville.
Grace was a dedicated and active member of the Galloway United Methodist Church serving in many capacities. During her 80+ year membership, she believed in Jesus Christ and served him faithfully. Her favorite mission trip was in September 1991 to the Appalachian Mountains with Red Bird Missions. Her church family meant so much to her and she loved and cared for them deeply.
Grace was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards with her friends and was a member of the Belles Lettres Club and the Over 50’s Group at the Galloway Church. She was best known for her willingness to help anyone however she could. She was frequently cooking a meal or donating to her favorite charity. In 2015 she was chosen as the “Woman of the Year” by the Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce. This was a cherished and well-deserved honor for her.
On August 10, 1957, she married Albert (Abe) Solle and he preceded her in death on April 2, 1983. Surviving are her three daughters and their husbands, Rebecca (Becky) Witherup (Robert) of Franklin, Sandy Thomas (John) of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Marcia Golembeski (Ron) of Boiling Springs, PA.
Her family was completed by 6 grandchildren of whom she so enjoyed: Nicole Witherup Brewster (Garrett) of Cranberry Township, PA, Tanner Golembeski (Brittney) of Meadville, PA, Joshua Manning (Megan) of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Abe Thomas of New York City, Eli Thomas and Owen Thomas of Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was also blessed with 6 great grandchildren; Bayne and Brynlee Brewster, Remington and Barrett Manning, and Brooklin and Blake Golembeski.
Additionally, she is survived by one sister, Julia (Judy) Lusher of Franklin, a brother-in-law, Chuck Haun of Florida, sisters-in-law Beatrice Spence of Oil City and Helen McConchie of South Carolina. In addition, she was loved by many special nieces and nephews, Karen, Maria, Jason, Mark, Linda, Brenda, Delora (DeeDee), Tim, Dawna, Suzi, Sheila, Greg, Kendra, Josh, Jessica, Carl, Tecia and Valerie.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara who passed away in 1944 at the age of 4, her brothers Donald Jacoby and Henry Jacoby, sister Joan Haun, sister-in-laws Linda Jacoby and Elaine Jacoby, brother-in-law Ed Lusher. Also predeceased by Craig Haun, John Grill, Carla Jacoby and Debbie and John Pereira.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St., Franklin where family and friends are welcome on Wednesday, September 15th from 1:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 16 at the Galloway United Methodist Church, 196 Seysler Road, Franklin with the Rev. Roy Gearhart, Pastor, officiating. Additional Viewing will be from 10:00 to 10:45 Thursday in the church.

Interment will follow at The Franklin Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Galloway United Methodist Church, Jamie’s Kids, or the Venango County Humane Society.
