Harriet E. Rhoads

Harriet E. Rhoads, 85 of Franklin passed away at 12:45 P.M. on Tuesday July 31, 2018 at Sugar Creek Station where she has resided for the last five years.

Born April 7, 1933 in Franklin, she was a daughter of the late Harry E. and Anna Oakla Huff.

She was a graduate of Rocky Grove High School and worked for a number of years in the kitchen at the former Venango Manor.

Harriett was a woman of faith who attended the Worden Chapel United Methodist Church when her health permitted.

She enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, gardening and making blankets for family and friends. Harriet and her late husband enjoyed hunting together and riding their motorcycle numerous times to Florida and other various locations.

Above all, Harriet was a devoted wife and mother who loved being a homemaker and taking care of her family.

She married Richard Rhoads on January 27, 1955 and he preceded her in death on April 16, 1998.

Surviving are three children; David D. Rhoads of Franklin, Daniel E. Rhoads and his wife Yvonne of Franklin, and Donald J. Rhoads and his fiancé Julie Hovis of Franklin; seven grandchildren, Dustin R. Rhoads, Daniel E. Rhoads Jr and his wife Jenna, Matthews S. Rhoads and his wife Carol, Mindy S. Rhoads, Nicholas T. Rhoads, Erica L. Rhoads and Travis W. Rhoads; two step grandchildren, Russel W. Coyne and his wife Shelia and Cynthia J. Coyne; and six great - grandchildren.

Additionally surviving is a sister, Charlotte Graham and a brother-in-law James M. Miles and his wife Priscilla.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff - Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin where family and friends are welcome from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. Friday and 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. Saturday.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Earl Dykes, former Pastor of Worden Chapel United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery.
