Irene Richey Findlay, 92 of Belmar Road, Franklin, died at 6:40 p.m. Monday, August 10, 2009 in UPMC Northwest, Seneca.
She was born at the Franklin Hospital on November 7, 1916 a daughter to the late Andrew and Margaret Klipple Wheeling. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1934.
She was married July 14, 1940 to Clinton P. Richey and he died May 7, 1972. She later married FloydMickey� Findlay on January 6, 1979 and he died on August 8, 2002.
She had worked in the office of the General Manifold and Printing Company for five years preceding her first marriage. For 14 years she worked on a part time basis for Loblaws in Franklin and for five years as a library aide at Sandycreek Elementary School.
She was an active member of the East Grove United Methodist Church for 52 years and loved studying the Bible.
She loved baking which she was well known for and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are three sons, Charles D. Richey and his wife Joyce; Clinton P.Sam� Richey and his wife Nancy; Kim I. Richey and his wife Donna all from Franklin; a step-daughter, Faith Ann Findlay, Seneca; a step-son, Park Vincent Findlay and his wife Paula, Franklin; seven grandchildren, Penny Boehms and her husband Mark, Oman in the Middle East; Andrew Richey and his wife Amy, Franklin; Paul Richey and his wife Carrie, Franklin; Melissa Slack and her husband Van of Roseville, OH; Mark Krizon and his wife Carol, Indiana; Clint Richey, Oil City; Adam Richey and his fianc�� Missy Ashbaugh, Marienville; 3 step-grandchildren Chad Findlay and his wife Jen, Cranberry, Jarrett Findlay and his wife Emily, Rockland; Brittany Findlay, Seneca; 13 great grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews whom she thought highly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, a son Tim I. Richey, sister Cora Burchfield and her husband Chub; a brother Lloyd Wheeling and his wife Irene and two great grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St., Franklin on Thursday from 2-6 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Lea A. Guiney pastor of the East Grove United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment will be made in the Graham Cemetery.
The family suggests that donations be made to East Grove United Methodist Church building fund, 1167 Belmar Road, Franklin, PA 16323.
