Jay Ashley McLeod, 52, of Franklin, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday evening January 20, 2019 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.
Born in Nashville, TN on June 30, 1966, he was the son of John and Ollie Dasher McLeod.
Jay attended Mercer University in Georgia where he received his undergraduate degree and received his Master's degree from Georgia College. While at Mercer College, Jay was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Even though he left Georgia 20 years ago, Jay remained close to his childhood and college friends.
Jay dedicated his entire life to helping people by working as a Licensed Behavioral Health Specialist. He helped develop several behavioral health programs and co-founded in 2005 North Star Behavioral Health in Venango County. He helped build the company from one client to the practice it is today.
Jay was a Harley Davison enthusiast and loved to take trips on his Harley to locations all over with his beloved wife. Jay and Katrina would plan trips and brewery tours always making sure to visits locations from Diner's, Drive In's and Dives. Jay made friends wherever he went and together he and Katrina enjoyed many adventures together. His love of motorcycles was so strong he became a Motor Cycle Safety Instructor through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Jay had an infectious smile and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
On February 22, 2013, Jay married the former Katrina Seman, who survives. Jay and Katrina's love story spanned nearly two decades and included the last 11 years spent together. Katrina was the love of Jay's life and he did everything he could for his wife and lived each day to the fullest together. Jay often said his favorite place in the world was home with his "Girls", Katrina and their two dogs, Bella and Harley.
In addition to his wife and parents he is survived by his sister, Jane Holman and her husband Bolen of Georgia; father-in-law, Daniel Seman of Pittsburgh; two brother-in-law's, D.J. Seman and his wife Ashley of Georgia and Gregory Seman and his wife Stacie of Pittsburgh; six nieces and nephews, Maggie Patel and her husband Davon, Kate Cyprian and her husband Jonathan, Mary Grace Holman, Trey Seman, Caroline Seman, and Cheyenne Seman; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Additionally surviving are his lifelong friends, Joe Schell and his wife Erin and Stan Benvin and his wife Kim.
He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Susan Seman.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin where family and friends welcome from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. Friday.
A time of sharing for friends and family will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday in the funeral home chapel.
Even in death, Jay was helping others by being an Organ Donor and donating to those in need.
