Jeanne M. Ritchey

Jeanne M. Ritchey, 90, of 615 Rocky Grove Ave., died at 9:55 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2012 at Sugar Creek Station.

A daughter of E. Paul and Margaret E. Kirk Hawk she was born in Altoona on May 29, 1922. She was a graduate of Altoona High School.

Mrs. Ritchey was employed at Polk Center for 13 years in the school department teaching homemaking skills to the residents.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Franklin and was an active member of the Dempseytown Senior Center. For years she enjoyed raising pet birds.

On August 15, 1941 she married Rev. Leonard E. Ritchey, he died August 1, 1989. Surviving are four sons Calvin G. Ritchey of Orlando, FL, Brian E. Ritchey of Franklin, Geoff Ritchey of Carlisle and Cory Ritchey of Denver, CO; two daughters Leslie Dietz of Uniontown and Betsy Allen of Cortland, NY. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother Paul K. Hawk.

Memorial services will be held at Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 W. Park St. at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Randy Powell, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating.

Interment will be made in Carson Valley Cemetery, Duncansville.

Her family has suggested memorials be made to the First Baptist Church, 1041 Liberty Street, Franklin PA 16323.
