Joan H. Funk, 89, of 1220 Chestnut Street, formerly of 208 N. Front Street, Fraklin, died Thursday October 3, 2013 at UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA.
A daughter of James P. and Amy E. Manson Hitchcock she was born in Franklin on April 18, 1924. She was a 1943 graduate of Cranberry High School.
Mrs. Funk was employed at Miller Equipment as a cutter. She retired in 1982.
She was a member of the Church of God at Seventh Street in Franklin and a past officer of Queen Esther Shrine in Oil City.
On November 28, 1947 she married Fred M. Funk who died May 16, 1992.
Surviving are a son Gary M. Funk of Franklin, three grandchildren Jennifer Ann Harbaugh, Jessica Lynn Funk and James Edward Funk all of Franklin and three great grandchildren Kelsie, Nicklaus and Jeffrey Harbaugh II.
Also surviving are a brother Rollin C. Hitchcock and his wife Lois, a niece Rebecca Stafford and a nephew Douglas Hitchcock.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister Norma Jean Hitchcock, and a brother Charles L. Hitchcock.
Friends will be received in the Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 312 W. Park St., Franklin from 6-8 p.m. Monday.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. James Leichliter, pastor of the Frist Church of God officiating.
Interment will follow in Congress Hill Cemetery.
