Joan R. Loeffler, 92 of Franklin passed away at 8:40 P.M. Thursday May 5, 2016 at her residence.
Born July 16, 1923 in Pittsburgh she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Hilda Young Rigby.
Joan graduated from the University of Pittsburgh.
She was involved in many organizations, including the Venango County Humane Society, Franklin Housing Authority, Franklin Civic Operetta Association, the Monday Club, Franklin Library and was a Girl Scout Leader.
Joan was honored to be selected as the 1981 Franklin Woman of the Year by the Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce.
On May 14, 1954 she married John R. Loeffler and he preceded her in death on July 3, 1990.
Surviving are two daughters; Shawn McCarren and her husband David of Landenberg, PA and Holly Bialo and her husband Carl of Oil City; three grandchildren, Ian Bialo and his fiancé Allison Scurry, Cole McCarren and Gillian McCarren and three great-grandsons; Carter, Kellan and Bryce Bialo.
She will also be missed by her friends at the Franklin Wine and Spirits Store.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
Interment will be at Reno Cemetery.
