John C. Knight Sr., 63, of Utica, passed away peacefully surrounded by many loved ones on Saturday November 24, 2018 at his residence.
He was born in New Brunswick, NJ on August 22, 1955.
John was self-employed as a machine repairman. It was well known that John could fix anything including cars, motorcycles and any repair's that needed to be done at his home or the homes of his friends.
He loved to ride his Harley Davidson.
For over 15 years John has been an active member of the local AA community and has helped touch the lives of many men. He has been a sponsor to many and a friend to anyone who needed help on their sobriety journey.
John was grateful to have been surrounded by so many loved ones in his final days.
He is survived by the love his life, Lori Young of Utica; a daughter, Melissa Devlin of New Jersey; three sons, John Knight Jr., of New Jersey, Matthew Keith, currently serving in the United States Navy and Christopher Keith of New Jersey; two brothers, Perry Knight and Frank Knight, and many grandchildren.
He is also survived by many other loved ones.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday December 8, 2018 at the Utica Presbyterian Church prior to the 6:30 P.M. AA meeting that John attended for the last 10 years.
