John J. Skoch, 80, a resident of Boyers, currently living at Trinity Living Center, Grove City passed away at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2014 at the Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice.
Johnny was born July 7, 1933 in Pittsburgh. He was the son of the late John and Lillian Skoch. He was raised in Pittsburgh and was a member of the Reserve Twp. Fire Dept., until he moved to Boyers in 1966. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Johnny was a very outgoing person. He loved angels and his family believes the angels came to take him home.
He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Forestville.
He was retired from Slippery Rock University in the housekeeping department.
Surviving are his sister Linda Laslavic and her husband Rudy of Boyers, his brother Warren Skoch and his wife Barbara of Slippery Rock. Four nieces, a nephew, 6 great- nieces, 3 great- nephews and a great-great-nephew complete his family.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Stephen Skoch.
Friends will be received in the Jamison Funeral Home, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Family and friends will gather at Church of Beloved Disciple, 1310 S. Center St. Ext., Grove City at 11 a.m. Thursday to celebrate a funeral mass with Rev. Michael P. Allison presiding.
If desired, the family requests memorial donations be made to VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Dr., Butler PA 16001.
