John L. Simpson, 90 of 417 Moreland Dr. died at 9:00 P.M. Sunday March 4, 2012 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.
A son of John L. and Grace Patterson Simpson he was born December 21, 1921 in Mercer.
He attended the public schools in Mercer and in New York and was graduated from Stoneboro High School. He attended Commercial College in Franklin.
During World War II he served in the US Navy in the Atlantic and Mediterranean.
Mr. Simpson began his banking career as a messenger for Exchange Bank in Franklin. When he retired in 1983 with over 42 years of service he was senior vice-president of PennBank, now National City Bank.
Mr. Simpson belonged to several social and charitable organizations and served on numerous boards of these organizations.
On January 21, 1950 he married the former Viola E. Ramsdale. She died April 4, 1995. He was the last surviving member of his family.
There will be no public visitation or services.
Interment will be made in Graham Cemetery.
