John R. Reagle

John R. Reagle, 84, of Fort Pierce, Florida died Monday December 31, 2012 at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, MD.

A son of John S. and Marguerite Rice Reagle he was born in Franklin on July 8, 1928. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, now St. Patrick?s School and Franklin High School. He received his diploma from the Franklin Business College.

Mr. Reagle worked at Cooper Bessemer in Grove City before entering the armed forces in January 1951. He served as a clerk stenographer and then as chief clerk for the Judge Advocate until his discharge in 1953.

Upon returning home he worked as a cost accountant for Oil Well Supply until attending Gannon University in Erie. Following his graduation he held several positions at Erie Insurance from 1955 until his retirement in 1991. At the time of his retirement he was supervisor of product development for personal lines.

A devout catholic he was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church while living in Erie before moving to Florida where he was a member of St. Lucie Catholic Church.

He enjoyed many activities particularly enjoying the time spent with his children and grandchildren.

On September 15, 1956 he married the former Joan A. Grill in St. Patrick Church, Franklin. She died March 4, 2010.

Surviving are four children and their spouses, Thomas Reagle of Erie, David and Mildred Merski Reagle of New Market, MD, William and Michelle Crossett Reagle of Arnold, MD, and Susan and James Kocaba of Madison, CT; grandchildren, Emily Reagle, Julia Reagle, Zachary Reagle, Gavin Reagle, Maya Reagle, Owen Kocaba and Drew Kocaba. Also surviving is a brother Francis Reagle and his wife Marilyn of Ft. Pierce, FL.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a daughter Mary Theresa Reagle, a brother James M. Reagle and two sisters Mary Irene Shook and Leona Beer.

Friends will be received in the Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 312 W. Park St. from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Patrick Church, 951 Liberty St. with Monsignor John J. Herbein, pastor, presiding.

Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
