Judy L. Gariepy, 70 of 1871 Rocky Grove Ave., Franklin joined her Lord and Savior at 9:35 A.M. on Thursday August 2, 2012.
Born May 14, 1942 in Louisville, KY, Judy was the daughter of the late Albert and Winnie Pearl Langley Elmore.
She was married on October 7, 1971 to Edward L. Gariepy who survives.
Mrs. Gariepy attended Pleasure Ridge Park High School in Louisville, KY. She was employed at Foster Forbes Glass Company in Oil City, until their closing in April 1984. Following that she was employed by United Community Independence Programs until her retirement as a homemaker, housewife, and mother.
Judy was an avid sportswoman who enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as gardening and spending time with special friends Marion and Woody Horn, Sharon and Barry Lang and Cyndi Gariepy. Her favorite pastime was watching her children and grandchildren grow up and excel. She especially enjoyed cheering her grandchildren on at various sporting events.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughter, Connie Miller Shull and her husband Richard of Oil City, two sons William Miller II and his companion Deborah Clouser of Oil City, and James Gariepy and his wife Michelle of Harrodsburg, KY, five grandchildren; Kayla Shull and companion Ryan Wadlow of Arlington, VA, Travis Shull of Oil City, and Megan Stockenger, Jackson Stockenger and Joseph Stockenger of Harrodsburg, KY.
In addition to her immediate family, Mrs. Gariepy is survived by nine sisters, Barbara Harper, Wanda Meredith, Linda Taylor, Becky Weakley, Paula Mudd, Mary Henretta (Reta) Hembree, Bonnie Desonia, Deborah Yanz all of KY and Gail Desonia of Michigan; two brothers Alvin Elmore and Howard ?Butch? Elmore of KY. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews including two local nephews, Shawn Benson and his wife Michelle and Todd Benson and his wife Elizabeth.
Mrs. Gariepy was preceded in death by her loving parents, two sisters, Betty Hanseling, and Anita Elmore, a brother, James Gribbons and her beloved daughter Wanda Jane Miller.
Family and friends are welcome from 4:00 ? 8:00 P.M. on Sunday at Huff Chapel Inc. 312 West Park St. Franklin.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Randy Powell, Pastor of the Franklin First Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment will be made at Lamey Cemetery.
