Kathleen A. Mcmichael

Kathleen McMichael, 65 of Polk Center died peacefully at 3:47 P.M. Thursday June 7, 2012 at UPMC Northwest surrounded by her family and caregivers.



She was born on May 12, 1947 and spent her early years in Kane, Pennsylvania and had been a resident of Polk Center for over 60 years.



?Mikey? was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Grace McMichael and her brother Bill. She is survived by her brother James of Fairfax, VA, sisters Karen DeShong and Susan Frirsz of Chambersburg, and Polk caregivers who knew and loved her.



She was a curious, often stubborn, and sometimes rambunctious woman. Those she loved often received affectionate hugs, but when she was finished interacting, she pulled a blanket over her head and waved us away. She will be remembered for her energy, her sense of humor, and her determination.



Her life will be celebrated with a memorial service and mass on June 25 at 2:45 in the Terrace Building at Polk Center. She will be missed by her biological family and by her extended family at Polk Center.
