Kenneth R. Young

Kenneth R. ?Ken? Young, 83 of 228 Front St. Franklin died at 10:15 P.M. Sunday March 11, 2012 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

Born March 10, 1929 in Rocky Grove, he was the son of the late Richard N. and Annabell Wentworth Young.

Ken worked at CPT and also Polk Center as a RSA and Supervisor. He drove school bus for 44 years in Valley Grove School District.

He proudly served in the United States Army in the 18th Airborne Core for two years.

Ken enjoyed hunting and fishing with his boys and grandsons and attending his grand children?s ball games. He also enjoyed the company of his Golden Retriever, Hank.

He attended the Atlantic Avenue United Brethren Church for 77 years.

On October 17, 1953 he married the former Beverly J. Brady who survives.

Also surviving is a daughter; Mona Fox and her husband Jim of Oil City; two sons, Richard C. Young of Galloway, and Kelly B. Young and his wife Kim of Victory Height; a sister Dorothy Alt and her husband Ralph; five grandchildren, Kenneth R. Young and his wife Tricia of Franklin, Kelly B Young Jr. of Franklin, Jacob G. Young of Seneca, Jillian Brzezinski of Oil City, and Nicole Young of Oil City; one great granddaughter Ava Lee London of Oil City and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Eileen Reitz and her husband Blair Reitz; a niece, Carol Alt Miller; and two nephews, WM. B. Reitz Jr. and James R. Reitz.

Friends will be received from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Atlantic Avenue United Brethren Church, 160 Atlantic Ave. Franklin.

Funeral services will follow at noon in the church with the Rev. Gary Small, Pastor of the church, officiating.

Interment with full military honors rendered by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard will follow at Franklin Cemetery.
