Laverne F. Schnelzer, 80, of Harrisville, died at 4:05 p.m. Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Jameson Memorial Hospital, New Castle.
A daughter of Aloysius and Anna Egal Schnelzer she was born in Pittsburgh on August 29, 1934.
She had worked for Kresge's and later K-Mart in Pittsburgh. Following her retirement she moved to the Harrisville area.
She attended St. Anthony Church in Forestville. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo and after moving to "the country" she enjoyed gardening.
Laverne is survived by her brother Ronald Schnelzer of Harrisville and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
Friends will be received in the Jamison Funeral Home, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Anthony Church, Forestville by Rev. Kevin G. Poecking, pastor.
Interment will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery
