Lois S. Walz

Lois S. Walz, 91, formerly of Franklin passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Presbyterian Senior Care in Oakmont.

Born September 26, 1924 in Pine Grove Twp. Venango County, she was the daughter of the late Clyde A. and Viola M. Betz Stroupe.

She was a 1941 graduate of Oil City High School and a 1945 graduate of Clarion University with a degree in Library Science.

Mrs. Walz worked for 21 years as a teacher and librarian in the Oil City School District retiring in 1983.

She was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church in Oil City and Pa Association of School Retirees.

On January 12, 1946 she married Raymond F. Walz and he preceded her in death on March 18, 1996.

Surviving is a son, Gary R. Walz, and his wife, Lois, of Churchill; a granddaughter, Kelly Lynne Walz, of Oakmont, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by brothers, Clyde A. Stroupe Jr. and George E. Stroupe.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin where family and friends are welcome from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. Tuesday.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Douglas A. Rehberg, Senior Pastor of Hebron Church, officiating.

Interment will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery.
