Mabel G. Harry, 87, formerly of Georgetown Road, died peacefully at 2:00 p.m. Monday November 28, 2011 at The Caring Place.
The only child of Harry O. and Alice M. Landis Deemer she was born in Harmony on June 2, 1924.
Mrs. Harry was an active member of the Nicklin United Methodist Church, a member of the Women?s Society, former Sunday School teacher and craft co-ordinator for the Bible School. She had served on the Board of the County Home Extension Office and for years was in charge of the craft display for the 4-H Fair. She was past Nobel Grand of Minnie Rebekah Lodge #144. She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels.
She enjoyed crafts and traveling.
On Valentine?s Day 1942 she married the love of her life Albert S. Harry. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2003.
Surviving are a daughter Rita Crawford and her husband Terrence of Franklin and three granddaughters Bridgette Graham and her husband Michael of Rocky Grove, Tawnya Hamilton and her husband David of Franklin and Tara Lea McMasters and her husband Chad of Franklin. Also surviving are three great-granddaughters Gabriella Graham, Mallory McMasters and Sydney McMasters and several generations of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and a son William Harry.
Friends will be received in the Huff Chapel Inc., 312 W. Park St. from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held in the Nicklin United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Linda Deeter, chaplain of The Caring Place officiating.
Interment will follow in the Nicklin Cemetery.
