Mable L. Leyda, 73, of 1875 Keely Road died on Thursday October 25, 2012 at her residence.
A daughter of John W. and Grace A. Crum Hays she was born in Franklin on September 15, 1939. She was a graduate of Rocky Grove High School.
Mable had waitressed for several area restaurants including Hoss?s, Leonardo?s and King?s. She had most recently worked in the deli department at Giant Eagle.
Mable attended the Grace United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Franklin Elks Lodge, Women of the Moose, the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion and VFW in Titusville and the PNA in Oil City. She enjoyed playing bingo and traveling with her husband, she had visited all the lower 48 states.
On April 20, 1963 she married Gary E. Leyda who survives along with three sisters Clara Lou Hays of Rocky Grove, Mary Pardee of Oil City and Tethel Humphrey of Greenville; an aunt Dorothy Aber of Franklin and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is a special friend Betty Dean of Sugarcreek.
She was preceded in death by a brother Walter hays and four sisters Wanda Hays, Ethel Thomkins, Enid Bell and Florence ?Betty? Shaw.
Friends will be received in the Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 312 W. Park St. from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Sunday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Ed Gresick, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
