Marian F. Beightol, 91, of Franklin, passed away quietly in her home on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 4:44 P.M.
Mom was the youngest daughter of the late Freeman W. and Mary (Baker) King and was born December 13, 1932 in Springville.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Bailey (Robert Soliz) of Brownwood, TX, Cindy Foster (Tim) of Franklin and her son, Freeman Beightol of Chambersburg, PA. She is also survived by five grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and a longtime friend, Mary Etta Dutko of Cooperstown. Mom loved them all dearly.
She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Ashley Beightol, two son-in-laws, Walter Bailey Sr. and Robert Shuffstall Sr. and her former husband Chuck Beightol. She was the last member of her immediate family. She also was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Ashley, Freeman, Earl, DeWayne William, an infant brother and sisters, AdaMae Peterson, Clara Riggs, Beatrice Record, Sadie Riggs, Myrtle King and a very special nephew, Frank King.
Mom retired from Polk Center in 1985 and relocated to Brownwood, TX. She then retired from Brooksmith School as a Teacher's Aide and returned to Pennsylvania where she worked for her niece at Bea's Dairy Wheel outside of Clintonville. Mom also raised her great-grandson for 10 years. She taught herself to play the piano at the age of four and through the years, played at many churches for weddings. She could not read music, but played the piano, organ, accordion and harmonica by ear.
For many years while raising her four children, she was a member of the band 4 Jacks and a Queen. The band would play in Olean, NY, Bradford and Fryburg and traveled to many surrounding areas.
Mom always welcomed anyone she met and made many friends throughout her life and will be greatly missed. She had a really big heart and was slightly feisty at times.
Cindy would like to acknowledge and sincerely thank Aseracare RN, Ashely, caregivers, Sharon, Jeanien, Damika, Hanna, Ashley, Otisa, Kiera, Kiki, Cheryl T., son Charles and his wife Ashley, Aniya and Carrie UPMC. Without their love of Mom and the physical and mental support, Cindy would not have been able to keep Mom in her home. You will all forever be in my heart.
There will be no viewing in accordance with Mom's wishes.
There will be a celebration of Mom's Life in mid July 2025.
