Mark R. Kauffman Sr.

Mark R. Kauffman, Sr., 64, of Franklin, passed away peacefully the morning of Tuesday, March 3, 2025 at the Collins House after battling cancer. 

Son of the late Raymond W. and Edith Arlene Forest Kauffman, Mark was born on October 23, 1960 in Franklin. He was raised from birth by the late Francis and Donald Shuffstall. 

Mark’s hobbies included racing, derbies, fishing, and outdoor activities of all kinds. He was a hardworking and resourceful man that took pride in his hobby of metal scrapping. He had an eye for picking out the diamond in the rough and found joy in repurposing items that had been left behind by others. Mark was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone who needed it and found a friend anywhere he went. 

When you saw Mark's truck pulling up, you could bet he would get out with a smile on his face and a few wise cracks to share. Mark focused on the positive things in life and found peace in simplicity. He was a light in the community and will be remembered fondly by those who had the privilege of calling him "friend". 

Surviving Mark are his two children, Mark R. Kauffman, Jr. and his wife Brittany of Franklin, and Timmy Lee Kauffman-Grabowski of AZ. Additionally surviving is a sister, Donna Devault, of Franklin. 

Mark was preceded in death by an infant brother, William Raymond Kauffman, and a sister, Helen Wagner. 

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 312 W Park Street, Franklin where family and friends will be received from 1:00 - 4:00 P.M. Friday for visitation. 

A celebration of life will follow immediately after in the funeral home chapel. 

Mark's request was for everyone to come to his services dressed as he knew them.
