Mary Jane Adams, 84, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 20th.
Jane was born on December 1, 1927, in St. Petersburg, PA. She moved to the area with her mother as a teenager and was a graduate of Rocky Grove High School. Upon graduation, she became the first employee of the newly formed Miller Equipment in Franklin. She would retire from her position as executive secretary more than fifty years later. She, along with Mr. and Mrs. Miller, watched their little company grow and expand in ways they never could have imagined.
She met her future husband, Robert ?Bob? Adams in 1945, and they were married four years later. Their family quickly grew to include a son, Rodney Adams, and two daughters, Leslie A. Harper and Jody Biddle.
Now living in Franklin, Jane enjoyed countless weekend camping trips with her husband and children.
Throughout her life, Jane spent her free time reading, playing cards with her friends and family, and baking (particularly pies?lots and lots of pies). She was always the first to arrive for her family?s activities, from the weddings of her children to her grandchildren?s graduations to her great-granddaughter?s softball games. She made it a priority to be involved with each of their lives, and they were all better off because of it.
Jane was preceded in death by her mother, her daughter Leslie, a brother, Pat Perry, and a sister, Estella Reitz.
In addition to her husband, she is also survived by two sisters, Kate Simms and Faye Baughman, as well a brother-in-law, Ron Baughman.
She also leaves behind two children and their families, as well as the family of the late Leslie A. Harper, her daughter. These include Rodney Adams and his wife, Anita, his son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Chrissy Adams, and their daughters, Brandie Millich and Danielle Schreckenghost; Jody Biddle and her husband, Bob, their daughter, Erin Molly Biddle, and their son, Casey Biddle; Bob Harper, his son, Ian Harper, and his daughter, Lisa Harper.
