Mary Louise Mook

Mary Louise Mook, 94, of 15 Oak Street, Franklin died at 8:05 p.m. Sunday August 1, 2010 at The Caring Place.
A daughter of Emmett P. and Anna Hughes Morgan she was born in Franklin on July 5, 1916. She was a 1934 graduate of Franklin High School.
Mrs. Mook began her working career at the General Manifold and Printing Company and later was a secretary/receptionist for Dr. Clark and later Dr. Butters. She then became the director of VENARC and later Director of the Easter Seal Society of Venango County.
Active in the community she was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, the Venango County Historical Society and Debence Antique Music World. She was on the committee to create the Miller Sibley Swimming Pool.
Her church life was important to her and she was a 50 year member of the First United Methodist Church in Franklin and had for some time been attending the Christ United Methodist Church. She was active in instituting programs at both Wesley Woods and Olmstead manor as outreachs of the church.
Among her joys were baking, cooking, reading and camping. Many will remember her for her butter mints at Christmas time.
On April 20, 1940 she married Wayne E. Mook who died September 1, 1990.
Surviving are a son Brian L. Mook and his wife Carol of Ft. Myers, FL, a granddaughter Cathleen L. Martyniak and her husband Richard II of Gainesville, FL and a great-grandson RichardMatthew� Martyniak III. Also surviving are a brother Richard Morgan and his wife Ike of Franklin, two sisters Elizabeth Worden and Josephine McCracken both of Franklin and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St. from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Edward D. Clark and Rev. John Sass Jr. retired United Methodist ministers officiating.
Interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.
