Melvin F. Riland, 84 of 1825 Rocky Grove Ave. died at 1:06 P.M. Saturday September 10, 2011 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.
Born January 4, 1927 in Sunbury, PA, Melvin was a son of the late George and Annie Snyder Riland.
Melvin served in the United States Navy during WWII.
Mr. Riland was a watch maker and opened his own shop on Rt. 417 in 1964. He made and repaired watches for numerous local jewelry stores.
He enjoyed singing and Barber Shop Quartet Music.
He was a well known and friendly face to the reisdents and aides during his time at Sugar Creek Station.
Friends will be received from 6-8 P.M. Friday at the Huff Chapel Inc. 312 West Park St. Franklin.
