Meredith Barrett

Meredith Barrett, 72 of 341 Liberty St. Franklin died at 8:45 P.M. Friday October 14, 2011 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.



A daughter of Ralph Velroy and Sarah Helen Henderson Beatty she was born May 28, 1939 in the same home that she resided in her entire life at 341 Liberty St.



She was a graduate of Franklin High School. Upon graduation from high school and until the birth of her first child, Mrs. Barrett worked at Country Bell Dairy in Seneca.



Meredith was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She especially loved being a grandmother and gave her full support to all of her grandchildren attending all of their various activities and events.



Mrs. Barrett was very involved with the Grace Lutheran Church in Franklin, participating in the Altar Guild and Church Council. She was a supporter of the Shepard?s Green Community Food Pantry at St. John?s Episcopal Church.



On July 19, 1958 she married Charles Barrett, who survives.



Also surviving are four children; Anita Urey and her husband Lyle Jr. of Cranberry, Andrew Barrett and his wife Tammy of Utica, Melissa Whitman and her husband Edward Jr. of Oil City, and Benjamin Barrett and his wife Andrea of Franklin; five grandchildren, Alyssa and Dakota Urey of Cranberry, Haley and Holly Whitman of Oil City, Carter Barrett of Franklin and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also expecting grandchild number six very soon.



In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Frances Guyer.



Family and friends welcome Monday from 4:00 ? 7:00 P.M. at the Huff Chapel Inc. 312 West Park St. Franklin. Additional visitation will be from Noon ? 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at St. John Episcopal Church, 1145 Buffalo St. Franklin. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 P.M. in the church with. The Rev. Holly Davis, rector, officiating.



Interment will follow in Franklin Cemetery.
