Nannie E. Brown, 93 of Franklin passed away at 11:04 P.M. Tuesday January 28, 2014 at Sugar Creek Station.
Born April 5, 1920 in Strattanville, she was a daughter of the late William and Emma Myers Rifenberrick.
She attended Rocky Grove High School.
Mrs. Brown worked many years for the Valley Grove School District as a cook at Rocky Grove High School.
She enjoyed crocheting and playing cards and was involved with a sewing and card club. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was an active and faithful member of Christ United Methodist Church in Franklin.
On August 21, 1937 she married Raymond M. Brown and after 50 years of marriage he preceded her in death on October 27, 1987.
Surviving are two daughters; Wendy Sloss and her husband Tom of Reno and Bertha McElhaney and her husband Harry ?Mac? of Franklin; five grandchildren, Mike McElhaney, Vicki Ahmadian, Debbie Covell, Lori Sloss and Ed Sloss; 14 great-grandchildren, Sara, Patrick, Clayton, Amy, Leigh, Anna, Jenny, Becky, Cody, William, Shane, Piper, Aedan and Scott; and 6 great ? great grandchildren, Zack, Avery, Colton, Emma, Tyler and Alexandra.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister; Marge Matson; a brother Lowrey Rifenberrick; and a grandson Steven ?Pete? McElhaney.
Family and friends welcome Thursday from 3:00- 7:00 P.M. at Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. 312 West Park St. Franklin.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Sam Wagner, Associate Pastor of Christ United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
