Patricia R. Jones

Patricia R. Jones, a devoted mother, grandmother, and resident of Glassport, PA, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2024 at the age of 92. 

She was born on March 12, 1932 to Carlos and Blanche O’Neil Hogan in Indianapolis, Indiana. 

Patricia lived a full and vibrant life surrounded by her loving family. An avid writer, she loved journaling and letter writing. Patricia was a devoted Roman Catholic and served as a Den Mother for Cub Scouts. She had a passion for gardening and was a lifelong distance walker, never driving a car. 

Known as “Pat” to friends, her Irish heritage gave her a spirited temper balanced by thoughtfulness and kindness. 

In her younger years, Pat’s compassion led her to care for two elderly neighbors. In her later years, Patricia volunteered as an election poll worker and helped at her senior center. Above all, she was a dedicated and loving daughter, sister, mother, and friend. Everyone who knew Patricia loved her dearly and always said that she made the best potato salad. 

Pat is survived by her children, William Jones (Carol), Robert Jones (Charlene), John Prettyman (Julie), and daughter-in-law, Gertrude Hogan. Grandchildren; Michael (Marina), Alyssa, Jessica (Patrick), Caleb, and Jay. 

Patricia was preceded in death by her father Carlos, mother Blanche, her eldest son Richard, and her 6 siblings; Margaret Grady, Elizabeth “Betty” Elliott, Edward Hogan, Robert Hogan, Dorothy Hogan, and Charles “Chuck” Hogan.

A private memorial service will be held by the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Patricia’s honor to the American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 7023 Merrifield, VA 22116. The family would like those who knew Pat to share their memories online.
