Patty Lou Myers, 75, of Franklin, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2019 at The Caring Place in Franklin, where she had been a resident for the past two years.
Born January 12, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Mabel Jarzenski Benson of Reno. She attended and graduated from Rocky Grove High School in 1961.
Patty was employed for many years at the Jamesway store in Reno until the store's closing; at which time she worked until her retirement at Walmart in Cranberry.
Patty was the loving and proud mother to three children, a son Jeffrey Culp (and wife Melissa) of Wexford; a daughter, Cynthia Culp Gariepy (and boyfriend Adam Berteotti) of Knox; and daughter Jodi Myers Diven (and husband Matthew) of Franklin. She would often be heard expressing love and pride for her grandchildren; Garrett, Keegan and Landon Culp and Matalyn and Adam Diven. Although her fight with dementia stole many of her memories, she was able to lovingly remember her children and grandchildren until her last days.
Patty was married and divorced to both Donald Culp of Kossuth and Leslie "Les" Myers of Reno. While married to Les she was pleased to call his two children, David Myers and Becky (Myers) May, her stepchildren. Patty was still known as "mom" to David and his wife Tammy; and grandma to their children, Samantha, Shannon, Shaylee and Steven.
In addition to her children and grandchildren, Patty is survived by her sister Charlotte Stone of Oil City; a brother, Carl Benson of Portland, NY; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Shirley Dittman, a brother Thomas Benson and a special aunt, Sara Persing.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 312 W. Park Street, Franklin. There will be no funeral service; a celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date to receive friends and family.
